DJ MARKET TALK: Indonesia Shares End At 9-Mo High; Astra Leads

0928 GMT [Dow Jones] Indonesia shares end up 1.8% at 9-month high of 2093.294 in moderate volume, amid hopes recent IDR rally to improve most companies' 1H earnings as it could reduce cost of imported raw materials, debt burdens. "Local funds which had so far been in selling positions turned to be net buyers despite profit taking by foreigners," says trader with Optima Securities. Foreigners net sellers of IDR208 billion worth of shares. Top gainers include car distributor Astra (ASII.JK), ends up 4.2% at IDR24,700, Bank Mandiri (BMRI.JK) up 5.1% at IDR3,625, while gas distributor Gas Negara (PGAS.JK) up 4.1% at IDR3,150.
